Solid Walk

Solid Walk

I have been battling many different things in my life over the last year or so. COVID has been a disaster and each of us have our own personal thoughts on this and each are valid or correct. Today I want to write a short word about having a Solid Walk.

A Solid Walk starts with you. Here are three ways that you as a church leader, volunteer, or a student can have a Solid Walk with God.

  1. Eliminate Hurry

  2. 7 Up Challenge

  3. Win the Day Spiritually

Eliminate Hurry

Each one of us have planning pads full, schedules filled with pen marks, and meetings filling up our lives. Which COVID has made worse because now we are zooming or using Microsoft Teams to be more “connected” and work is now being done at home more than you ever did in the Office.

I fear that we have gotten our lives so full up that we are tired spiritually and physically. We are a generation and people who are busier than ever before, but more sleep deprived than ever before. Let me challenge you to say the word NO!

Corrie Ten Boom once shared with a group people that, “If Satan cannot get you to sin or fall for temptations he will make you busy.” Ladies and Gentleman we are a busy people, but what are we really accomplishing with our full schedules. We cannot have a solid walk with God if we are tied down with schedules that plan when we can eat, go to the restroom, and schedule everything.

God works outside of your Calendar and Planner Pads. We need to stop scheduling Jesus to work in a 3 x 3 space and allow him to have every space and area. A deeper walk with God comes when we lean just on Him.

7 Up Challenge

The first 7 minutes of your day decides your attitude and plans for the day. What are you doing with your first 7 minutes of your day. Is it social media, checking scores, or something else. I have been guilty in many days of my life of running to other things besides Jesus.

But let me challenge you to make the first 7 minutes of your day count. Open up the Bible and read God’s Word over your day. Listen to Worship Music and begin your day praising God.

No matter what you do with your first 7 minutes of the day, may it be spent with God.

Win the Day Spiritually

Let me encourage you to build spiritual habits into your day that help you to Win the Day. YES, you eliminate hurry and do the 7 Up Challenge, but you must also do the third part, Win the Day.

Scott how do we win the day?

I am glad you asked!

You win the day by:

  • Scheduling and having time with God daily.

  • Prayer time outside of eating

  • Accountability

  • Journaling through God’s Word

  • Seeking God’s Will

  • Kingdom Focus.

I Believe that each of you and your ministry will see Solid Walks this year, but it must start with these three items. I am praying for you this week that you will go deeper in your walk with Christ.
