10 Ways to WIN back to school in Ministry

10 Ways to WIN back to school in Ministry

  1. Plan a Back to school event. Last year because of COVID you may not have had a chance to have a special moment to send students back to school, but this year an event would be a WIN for your ministry!

  2. Launch into your fall schedule with a WIN! I do not know what your fall looks like, but if I am launching new material, gameplan, or approach I normally launch it in the fall as changes are already happening in teenagers lives. So we build momentum all year without major changes.

  3. Have an Open House for Parents to meet Small Group and Large Group leaders. Do not hold anything back from making this event special.

  4. Call Students or Write Cards. Be strategic and specific, but reach out to Students to build momentum and have Student Ministry become a habit/scheduled thing in Students lives.

  5. Outreach event. Plan a outreach event like a Dodgeball Tournament to help get students to hear about Jesus. I do mine in October but any time in the first quarter works.

  6. Live Stream Services. Students are building routines and have extra-curricular items and academia pulling at them. So live stream the service and allow the Students and Parents worship from home. Set up a video team who is talking to people online as a host.

  7. School Visits. Show up at schools and engage with Students through FCA or Bible Studies before or after school.

  8. The Ultimate Fan. I want to be at every students game at least once. If I am not able to then someone from my team will be there to be the Ultimate Fan.

  9. Become a chaplain at a school. Athletic programs are looking for Character Coaches and people to invest in the mental health of their team. The door is wide open for you to go and get into the school.

  10. Adopt a school. Bring meals to teachers once a month or just drop off donuts and coffee once a quarter. Just let a school know that you are there for them no matter what needs they may have this year.
